Hello, another member from the DGM board.

I wasn't a huge poster over there as I've never been married (although I'm thankful for discovering "The Author's" original forum and Lee's reincarnation of it afterwards).

On the other hand, the subject of going expat (whatever one's reasons are) I find much more interesting.

The classification of subjects you have for the forum so far looks good, madmax.

I hope a few members from the DGM forum migrate over here.

Side note -- thanks for not using a black background with white lettering. I find these very hard on the eyes when I read for more than 15 minutes. This is much easier on the eyes..

I'm 39 & never have been married. Mostly because I'm a bit of a loner -- have been all my life. I've worked in IT/telecom for 13 years in Calgary, Canada.

I found the original dontmarry.com site a long time ago. I think I found it by Googling a search term something like 'never want to marry' merely because I was curious what would turn up. Read the essay by the Author - good stuff. Then went on to the underlying blog & discovered that there were a LOT of men who felt the same way as I did about things.

I'm glad I found the original blog as there really aren't too many people I can talk to openly about this sort of thing. It hasn't stopped me, however, from sharing this & other great MRA sites with some of the young bucks at work. I suspect the majority will go along with herd mentality -- but hoping the few wise ones will heed the advice & save themselves a boatload of trouble.

But focusing on the positive -- even if my income never increases from what it is at present, without a wife, children, or overly expensive house, I will be able to retire quite comfortably in my latter 40's. Age 52 max. With all the spare time on my hands, I'm working on learing a craft and building a business. When it starts going to my favour, I'll be able to unplug from the current misandric culture I find myself in & move somewhere a lot better.
