Krakow, as of summer 2009, is a quaint, old-world European city. The architecture and feel of the city feel quite relaxing. However, I found the place too relaxing to the point that it was boring. There are few night clubs in small city center that were fun enough, but I did not find the women especially attractive. Conversation with them was easy and they were polite, but they are not my cup of tea. Krakow gets a fairly high share of tourists and they take away from the charm of the place. Auschwitz is nearby and Krakow is touted as the cultural center of Poland since Warsaw was destroyed in WWII. Along the lines of tourists are the infamous stag parties of drunk British men. The ruin the Krakow nightime experience because you as a foreigner are presumed to be a stagger until you speak with a non-British accent. See below. It is worth a visit because I know others who love the place for some reason. For me it is too compact and limited in night life. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQnUHNiTF8E
